Wenvoe Scouts
Scouting has been active in the village for the last 30 years. Currently the
group runs all three sections; Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Children join
Beavers at 6, progress through Cubs and leave Scouts at 14½.
We have approximately 40 children attending regularly each week.
Beavers have recently been involved with litter picks, hikes around the
village and games.
One of the best things about the Village Scout Group is the continuity of
children passing through the Scout Group and then their children in turn
coming back to the same Scout Group. Three of our present leaders were in
fact Cubs and Scouts in the village, going back to the mid 1970’s and the ex
Scout Leader is still called Skip by grown men today!

The team with their newly laid path behind
WENVOE CUB SCOUTS
The Cub’s spent an enjoyable evening doing a community service by relaying a path in the Orchid Field with bark. The evening’s activity will form part of their Community Badge. Nineteen cubs and leaders arrived at the field with their buckets ready for the project. A small group filled the buckets from the large pile of bark chippings by the gate and then with the rest of the cubs spread out up the hill along the line of the path, they passed the buckets from one to the other to reach the top where they were tipped and passed back down for refilling. Working as a team they made light work of the task in hand.
